A homeless man was attacked Monday by an alligator in the river under the bridge at U.S. 1 and Crane Creek.
A homeless man was attacked Monday by an alligator in the river under the bridge at U.S. 1 and Crane Creek. After being bitten on the shoulder by the alligator, the victim was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center for treatment, where he is in stable condition. 

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – A homeless man was attacked Monday by an alligator in the river under the bridge at U.S. 1 and Crane Creek.

After being bitten on the shoulder by the alligator, the victim was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center for treatment, where he is in stable condition.

According to WFTV, Melbourne Police Commander Dan Lynch said officers discovered the victim on the river bank with deep punctures along his shoulder.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission vessels are on scene seeking the alligator, which will be destroyed when it is captured.
