All Three County Debris Disposal Facilities Open Sunday From 7:30 a.m. To 5:30 p.m.

There are 18 trucks (10 tandem) collecting vegetative debris from Hurricane Matthew operating north of Pineda Causeway and 31 trucks south of Pineda Causeway today, Saturday, Oct. 22.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – There were 18 trucks (10 tandem) collecting vegetative debris from Hurricane Matthew operating north of Pineda Causeway and 31 trucks south of Pineda Causeway on Saturday.

All three County disposal facilities will be open this Sunday, Oct. 23, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for residents to drop off debris.

Crews are continuing work in the following areas:

North County

Cocoa North
Cocoa – west of Indian River Boulevard
Merritt Island (between SR528 and SR520, north of SR528)
Merritt Island — New Found Harbor
Port St. John
Mims, trucks started at Parrish and have been moving north and west of I-95 along SR46, and north of W. Main on Holder
Sharpes
Maplewood Lakes area
Suntree Estates — Started at Pineda and St. Andrews.

New areas anticipated with the next 48 hours:

Unincorporated Cape Canaveral
West Viera

South County

Turtle Mound, Windover and Carolwood area of Melbourne
Eau Gallie area of Melbourne, will move south to Ballard Park area today
Sheridan area of Melbourne
Satellite Beach heading south
Melbourne Beach beginning at US192 and heading south
West Melbourne
Malabar

New areas anticipated with the next 48 hours:

Expanding from current locations
Indian Harbour Beach
South Beaches will be resumed on Sunday

Crews have finished first pass:

Great Outdoors
South Tropical Trail south of Pineda Causeway
West Canaveral Groves
Flamingo Lane, Melbourne Beach

The County crews will make two passes throughout the county and cities that have entered into Interlocal Agreement for yard waste collection and one pass for construction debris. The county will notify the public when the first pass has been completed.

The Interlocal Agreement for debris collection includes:

Please keep your piles of vegetative debris and construction debris separate Also, do not put yard debris on the roadway, in the swale or other drainage easement.
