Brevard Sheriff’s Agents Seek First Degree Murder Suspect Regginald Jones of Merritt Island

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County Sheriff’s Agents are seeking murder suspect, 34-year-old Regginald Jones of Merritt Island, in connection with the shooting death of a Merritt Island man last Sunday.

According to Cpl. Dave Jacobs of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, Jones has an active arrest warrant for first degree murder, and should be considered armed and extremely dangerous.

“Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to 1165 Jordan Road, Merritt Island on Oct. 16, 2016, at approximately 10:30 p.m. after reports of shots being fired,” said Cpl. Jacobs in a release.

“Upon arrival, Deputies located a victim who suffered from a gunshot wound and was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased.”

The victim was identified as 36-year-old Samuel Sweeting of Merritt Island.

Sheriff’s investigators are seeking anyone with information about this incident.
