Eastern Florida State Women’s Soccer Hosting Region 8 Conference Tournament

Titans 10-2 overall and a perfect 6-0 in conference

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s soccer team is the top seed heading into the inaugural Region 8 Conference Tournament this weekend at the Titan Soccer Complex.

The Titans come into the tournament 10-2 overall and a perfect 6-0 in the conference and will face Polk State in the first semifinal Friday evening at 5 p.m. Daytona State will play Broward College at 8 p.m. with the final scheduled for 6 p.m. on Sunday.

“We are excited to host the first Region 8 Women’s Soccer Conference and are excited to play against Polk and my good friend Steve.

They have vastly improved over the year and we will have our hands full playing them,” Eastern Florida State College women’s soccer coach Jeff Carr said. “It should be a great atmosphere and we are looking forward to playing in front of our home crowd. It is great to see the sport of women’s soccer grow in the NJCAA in Florida and are excited to host the first tournament.”

The players have been focused this week in practice, preparing for the start of the postseason.

“The nerves are really wild right now, we don’t want to lose now so we have been keeping our heads as positive as we can and working hard in practice so that it reflects in the game,” said forward Darien Davis who has scored 12 goals this season for the Titans.

Teammate Nathali Da Silva agrees the team has been working hard and is ready for the postseason.

“It’s definitely going to be a great weekend, everyone is excited and working hard,” said Da Silva, who has 11 goals this season.

“Playoffs are here, win or we are out so we have to make sure we have the right mentality to go there and win this weekend and get ready for the next round.”
