BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s soccer team used a big second half to win a Region 8 Conference Tournament semifinal against Polk State.

The Titans, who are now 11-2 overall, scored three times in the second half to win the semifinal 4-0 and advance to Sunday’s conference final at Titan Soccer Complex.

“That’s what leadership does, it isn’t about talking it is about action and they performed and stepped up in the second half and made sure they didn’t get the goal,” Eastern Florida State College women’s soccer coach Jeff Carr said. “It wasn’t a great result but the job got done.”

With just under 20 minutes remaining in the first half Nathali Da Silva got the Titans on the board as she squeezes a shot between the Polk State keeper and the post.

It was Da Silva’s 12th goal of the season for the Titans. The score remained 1-0 until early in the second half when Darien Davis got loose behind the defense and got past the goalkeeper to make it 2-0.

Bunny Shaw made it 3-0 with eight minutes to go in the match as she capitalized on a turnover and put it in the back of the net. Five minutes later Davis scored again to put the game away.
