The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation after a pedestrian was reported being struck by a train in Port St. John, according to Cpl. Dave Jacobs of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

BREVARD COUNTY • PORT ST. JOHN, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation after a pedestrian was reported being struck by a train in Port St. John, according to Cpl. Dave Jacobs of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

Shortly after 9 p.m., Monday, the Sheriff’s Office was called to the area of U.S. 1 and Fay Boulevard in Port St. John.

According to authorities, a Florida East Coast Railroad worker reported a man was laying on the tracks near the intersection as the two mile long train came through. The train conductor located a body near Elkham Boulevard.

The victim was identified as 36-year-old Raymond East of Port St. John.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m.

The identity of the victim has yet to be released.
