(MASHABLE) – While scientists are still trying to figure out why whales and other sea mammals breach the surface, this whale is just doing it for the trolling.

With precise aim, a humpback whale breaches the surface of the water and directs its splash towards a boat off the coast of Rottnest Island, Washington.

Most of the people on the boat enjoyed the unexpected show, but one kid definitely did not appreciate the whale’s splashy prank.

The humpback whale has a distinctive body shape, with long pectoral fins and a knobbly head.

It is known for breaching and other distinctive surface behaviors, making it popular with whale watchers.
