Hurricane Matthew Update: Tuesday Storm Debris Collection Areas Announced

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – There are 25 trucks (16 tandem) collecting vegetative debris from Hurricane Matthew operating north of Pineda Causeway and 44 trucks (3 tandem) south of Pineda Causeway today, Nov. 1.

Waste Management will be resuming collection of small yard waste debris piles of one-half cubic yard or less.

Also, additional resources are being added for debris collection efforts in south Brevard County.

Crews are continuing work in the following areas:
North County
Cocoa — Clearlake area
Port St. John
Mims/Scottsmoor
North Merritt Island — Savannahs
North Merritt Island — Sunset Lakes
Merritt Island — South Tropical Trail heading north from Pineda
Merritt Island — Newfound Harbor Drive (Summers Creek)
Titusville — Windover Farms
Baytree Estates
West Viera
Unincorporated Titusville
Unincorporated Cape Canaveral — Avon By The Sea
Unincorporated Rockledge

New areas anticipated with the next 48 hours:
Merritt Island — Courtenay Road area
Snug Harbor

South County
Melbourne — north of University Boulevard, west of US1
Melbourne — Ixora Park area heading west
Melbourne — US192 and Dairy area
Streets north of US192 moving east
West Melbourne/June Park, moving east along US192
South Patrick Shores
Satellite Beach
Indian Harbour Beach
Melbourne Beach
Indialantic — moving north from US192
Micco — Little Hollywood
South Beaches
S. Tropical Trail south of Pineda (started at Mathers Bridge moving north)
Melbourne — Pineda Crossing/Deer Lakes/Grand Haven areas

South Grant-Valkaria

The County crews will make two passes throughout the county and cities that have entered into Interlocal Agreement for yard waste collection and one pass for construction debris. The county will notify the public when the first pass has been completed.

Veterans Day, 11/11/2016: No pick up.

The Interlocal Agreement for debris collection includes:

Melbourne Beach (Flamingo Lane — debris removed to accommodate road work)

Official remind residents to keep your piles of vegetative debris and construction debris separate. Also, do not put yard debris on the roadway, in the swale or other drainage easement.
