BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Be a part of history on Friday, Nov. 11, when the Veterans Memorial Center Inc., honors veterans with a Veterans Day Ceremony followed by the grand-opening celebration of the Veterans Memorial Center Military Museum.

The Veterans Day Ceremony takes place from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial Center, 400 S. Sykes Creek Parkway, on Merritt Island.

Grand-opening events for the 6,000 square-foot, 2-story Military Museum and Tower begin at 10:30 a.m.

The Veterans Day event includes food, drinks and other surprises and events through 4 p.m.

There will also be dedication of a Law Enforcement and First Responders Monument.

Events also include:

  • New library and technology center with 7,000 volumes and 51 veteran history project videos
  • New veteran-operated sales store in the museum
  • Introduction of 82-acre Veterans Memorial Park featuring walking, fishing, military-themed playground, picnic, kayak, canoes and paddle boards
  • Updated and expanded Memorial Plaza

An estimated 500-plus people along with dignitaries, elected officials and community leaders are expected to attend this event.
