BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Elementary math resource teacher, Diane Gard, has been honored with the Kenneth P. Kidd Mathematics Educator of the Year Award by the Florida Council of Teachers of Mathematics (FCTM).

The Kenneth P. Kidd Mathematics Educator of the Year Award was established in 1976 by the Florida Council of Teachers of Mathematics.

The award is designed to recognize an individual’s outstanding contributions to mathematics education. Gard was nominated in October 2015 by a peer from another district. There are up to five people on the ballot at one time.

The FCTM’s board of directors voted and selected Gard for this honor at the state conference in October of this year.
