‘Cops’ and ‘Robbers’ 5K Race Will Benefit Melbourne Police Department Specialty Teams

Set for Saturday, January 7 at Wickham Park

The 2nd Annual Cops & Robbers 5k Run/Walk will be held Saturday, January 7 at 8 a.m. at the Wickham Park Youth Camping Area.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The 2nd Annual Cops & Robbers 5k Run/Walk will be held Saturday, January 7 at 8 a.m. at the Wickham Park Youth Camping Area.

The Cops & Robbers 5K will benefit the Melbourne Police Department’s Specialty Teams, including K-9, Dive, SWAT and Crisis Negotiation, through the Melbourne Police Foundation.

This event will feature a continental breakfast post-race, business vendors, K-9 Demo and awards presented by the Melbourne Chief of Police.

You can sign up to race as a “cop” or as a “robber,” who get a one minute head start and try not to get caught. “Cops” try to see how many robbers they can catch. New this year, the first “cop” that catches a “robber” and grabs their flag, will receive a prize.

Awards Include: Overall male and female 1, 2, 3 places; Masters male and female; and male and female 5 Year Age Groups

Cost: Adults – $25 through December 17; Students – $20 through December 17; $35 beginning December 18; Groups of 5 or more receive $3 off each entry.

Early Packet Pickup: Friday, January 6, 4 – 6:30 p.m. at CrossFit Rise Above, located at 1054 Cypress Avenue in Melbourne.
