Melbourne Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred Saturday night at around 7 p.m. that left one man hospitalized near English Park Condominiums, according to Lt. Shawn Eising of the Melbourne Police Department.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred Saturday night at around 7 p.m. that left one man hospitalized near English Park Condominiums, according to Lt. Shawn Eising of the Melbourne Police Department.

In a release by police, authorities received calls shortly after 7 p.m. in regards to a man banging on a residents door and claiming he had been shot.

When officers responded to the scene they discovered the man suffered multiple gunshot wounds, subsequently rescue units arrived on scene to transport the man to a nearby hospital.

According to police, the man is expected to recover from his injuries, however the identity of the suspected gunman is still unknown.

The identity of the victim is not yet known.

Melbourne Police interviewed neighbors and potential witnesses at the time, while detectives and Crime Scene Investigators processed the scene.
