58-Year-Old Seriously Injured

A 58-year-old man is recovering in the hospital after crashing his motorcycle Wednesday morning in Cocoa.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – A 58-year-old man is recovering in the hospital after crashing his motorcycle Wednesday morning in Cocoa.

According to Yvonne Martinez of the Cocoa Police Department, the victim was traveling westbound on 520 attempting to get into a turn lane to go southbound on U.S. 1.

“As the driver tried to merge into the far left lane he clipped the vehicle in front of him causing him to fall,” said Martinez.

The victim was not wearing a helmet and struck his head on impact, say authorities.

He was flown to the hospital for serious head injuries but is expected to recover.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
