Palm Bay Police Arrest Teenage Boy For Making Bomb Threat Wednesday Night

Palm Bay Police have arrested a 14-year-old Palm Bay boy for making a false report of planting a bomb Wednesday night.

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA –  Palm Bay Police have arrested a 14-year-old Palm Bay boy for making a false report of planting a bomb Wednesday night. 

According to Lt. Mike Bandish of the Palm Bay Police Department, the boy made a prank phone call causing Palm Bay Police and West Melbourne Police to shut down the area of Palm Bay Road and Bass Pro Dr. / Hollywood Blvd., for two hours last night.

The boy made the call from a cell phone at 6:58 pm to a gas station at the intersection and claimed that the bomb was going to go off at 7:30 pm.

Both police agencies searched the area to make sure it was safe for our citizens.

Palm Bay police remind residents that a prank, like this, is dangerous and pulls officers away from handling other emergency calls for service.
