BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – Rockledge Police and Florida Department of Law Enforcement are investigating an officer involved shooting that resulted in a 17-year-old male being shot late Thursday night near Cogswell St. and Hawk St in Rockledge.
According to Rockledge Police Department spokeswoman Donna Seyferth, police responded just before midnight Thursday after receiving numerous calls from local residents about two people breaking into cars.
The two teenage suspects fled from officers in a white Toyota Corolla then later struck a police cruiser, according Seyferth.
The other suspect is identified as a 15-year-old male and was arrested.
The 17-year-old was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition, Seyferth said to WFTV.
No officers were hurt in the incident.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the shooting.
