BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Dr. Gregory Thomas Simmons passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017.

He is survived by his wife Debra Simmons of 35 years and Daughters Lindsey, Kaylee, Sophie and Siblings Donna, Debbie, Lisa, Stephen, and David.

He is now reunited with his beloved parents Dr. Bernard T. Simmons and Patricia A. Simmons.

Born in N.J. and raised in Sarasota, Greg graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School in 1975 and from Florida State University in 1980. He attended the Medical College of Georgia and graduated in 1988.

Greg was a Cocoa Beach resident for 21 years and one of Florida’s preeminent Cardio Thoracic Surgeons.

Deb and their three beautiful daughters were the love his life and his pride and joy. There is no bigger Seminole Fan and nothing brought him more joy than being with his great friends at Doak for a Seminole victory or on his boat cruising to the Bahamas.

A Celebration of the Life of “Sim” was held Monday, January 23 at Our Saviors Catholic Church in Cocoa Beach.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Our Saviors Catholic School, Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Dr. Greg Simmons Scholarship Fund or Florida State Athletics.
