Palm Beach State clutch free throws seel 69-65 win

Kareem Brewton scored 11 points in EFSC’s road loss to Palm Beach State on Wednesday night.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball team came storming back but fell short on the road Wednesday night.

The Titans found themselves down 10 points with under seven minutes remaining at Palm Beach State but went on a 9-0 run to cut the lead to 62-61. But Palm Beach State hit the free throws down the stretch, picking up the 69-65 victory.

Palm Beach State used its own 9-0 run to take a six-point lead into halftime, but Ahmed Ali hit back-to-back 3-pointers early in the second half to get the Titans back into the game. But Palm Beach State once again went on a run, working the lead up to 10 before the Titans responded once again.

Shaq Carter and Ali each led the Titans with 14 points apiece while Kareem Brewton scored 11 and Joan Duran had 10 in the loss.

The Titans are 2-2 in the Southern Conference and 17-3 overall heading into a key Southern Conference game Saturday against Miami-Dade.

The game is part of a doubleheader with the women’s basketball team facing Broward College at 2 p.m.

It is Green Dot Initiative Day at Titan Fieldhouse as fans are asked to wear green and there will be prizes handed out between games.

The game is part of a doubleheader with the women’s basketball team facing Broward College at 2 p.m. It is Green Dot Initiative Day at Titan Fieldhouse as fans are asked to wear green and there will be prizes handed out between games.

The men’s game will tip-off at 4 p.m. Admission is free to both games.
