Police Receive Call From Man Claiming He Murdered Roommate, Suspect Arrested For Attempted Murder

Melbourne Police have arrested 62-year-old Anthony Cannone of Melbourne for attempted murder early Wednesday morning near 411 Rutgers Ave. in Melbourne.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police have arrested 62-year-old Anthony Cannone of Melbourne for attempted murder early Wednesday morning near 411 Rutgers Ave. in Melbourne, according to authorities.

According to Commander Sean Riordan of the Melbourne Police Department, police received a call around 2 a.m. on Wednesday about a man stating he just murdered someone.

When officers responded to the residence in question, officers found a man with several stab wounds. Emergency medical attention was enacted, as officers began applying pressure to several bleeding stab wounds on the victim until medical personnel arrived.

Officers determined the caller, who was the suspect, was still on scene.

After interviewing the suspect, police say the suspect claimed displeasure with his roommate and his living habits and decided to murder his roommate.

The condition of the victim has not been released.
