Titusville Police K-9 ‘Jack’ Takes Down Strong Armed Robbery Suspect Sunday Afternoon

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville Police, along with the help of Titusville Police’s K-9 unit, have arrested a strong armed robbery suspect Sunday afternoon after robbing the Family Dollar Store located at 708 Cheney Highway.

According to the report by police, the preliminary investigation has revealed that the male suspect stole merchandise and cash from the store, then fled the scene at around 5 p.m.

Within minutes, K9 Officer Cantalupo and K9 dog, “Jack” tracked the suspect to the back door of a residence located 805 Cleveland Street, according to Amy Matthews of the Titusville Police Department.

Javonte Darnay Harris, 20, of Titusville, was located and arrested without incident.

Harris was charged with Robbery and Grand Theft.

The suspect is being held at the Brevard County Jail with a $5500 bond.
