Zarghee Mayan Charged With Assisting Murder Suspect Markeith Loyd Avoid Capture

The Orange County Sheriff’s office has arrested Zarghee Mayan, 33, (above) for aiding fugitive Markeith Loyd who is wanted in the shooting death of Orlando Police Master Sgt. Debra Clayton.

ORLANDO, FLORIDA – The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Zarghee Mayan, 33, for aiding fugitive Markeith Loyd who is wanted in the shooting death of Orlando Police Master Sgt. Debra Clayton. 

Sgt. Clayton, 42, was shot to death Monday after confronting Loyd outside a Walmart store, according to authorities.

Mayan was charged with Accessory After the Fact To First-Degree Murder.

According to arrest documents, Mayan helped Loyd avoid capture after the shooting of Sade Dixon, 24, Loyd’s pregnant ex-girlfriend, who was shot to death on Dec. 13 in Pine Hills.

Loyd is also accused of shooting Dixon’s brother, Ronald Steward, who was critically injured when he tried to assist his sister.

According to police documents, two days before Loyd’s encounter with Sgt. Clayton, he went to Mayan asking for food and money, and told Mayan that he would shoot any police who tried to stop him.
