Eight Eastern Florida State College Students Make All-Florida Academic Team

A record number of eight Eastern Florida State College students have been selected to the 2017 All-Florida Academic Team for their outstanding scholarship and work in the community

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – A record number of eight Eastern Florida State College students have been selected to the 2017 All-Florida Academic Team for their outstanding scholarship and work in the community.

The All-Florida Academic Team consists of 127 students from the 28-member Florida College System that includes Eastern Florida.

They are nominated by their colleges and selected based on high achievement in the classroom, leadership on campus and service to the community.

This year’s representatives from EFSC are the most the college has placed on the team.

“These students represent the very best at Eastern Florida and the very best in the next-generation of leaders in our community and state,” said college President Dr. Jim Richey.

“All of us at the college are proud of them, especially with this group being the most we have had named to the team.

“These students represent the very best at Eastern Florida and the very best in the next-generation of leaders in our community and state,” said college President Dr. Jim Richey.

“It’s even more impressive when you consider there are more than 800,000 students in the Florida College System. It’s a great accomplishment.”

Two students were selected from each of Eastern Florida’s four campuses. They are:

Titusville Campus
•    Jessica Larios, who is pursuing an Associate in Arts Degree in general studies.
•    Noelle Villaneuva, who is pursuing an Associate in Science Degree in Veterinary Technology.

Cocoa Campus
•    Jonathan Howell, who is pursuing an Associate in Arts Degree in general studies.
•    Victoria Kitt, who is pursuing a Post-Secondary Adult Vocational Certificate in Phlebotomy

Melbourne Campus
•    Zhenee Brown, who is pursuing an Associate in Arts Degree in general studies.
•    Leah Walker, who is pursuing an Associate in Arts Degree in general studies.

Palm Bay Campus
•    Laura Carroll, who is pursuing Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Organizational Management, and who received a general Associate in Arts Degree from the college in 2016.
•    Ana Perez, who is pursuing an Associate in Arts Degree in general studies.

Members of the All-Florida Academic Team will be formally recognized during an April 7 awards ceremony at Florida State University in Tallahassee.
