Simple time-saving tips, better known as “hacks” are a must for busy people.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Mornings can be hectic, but Mondays seem to be the worst.

Now throw in having to get other people up, dressed, fed and where they need to be along with yourself before a busy day of work.

I’ll leave out the household chores we squeeze in before we leave for a hectic day.

Every second counts and nothing throws a wrench in a morning like little annoyances such as dried up mascara or a split fingernail while you’re getting ready.

Simple time-saving tips, better known as “hacks” are a must for busy people.

Make-up professionals will tell you not to pump the wand in and out of or your mascara. It introduces air and dries the product faster.

If you realize in a busy moment that your mascara is dry just place a few drops of saline eye solution inside the tube. Swirl the wand inside to distribute the fluid and extend the life of your mascara until it can be replaced.

A split nail can also put a snag, no pun intended, into your schedule.

It can make a pull in fabric or catch hair and be an annoyance throughout your day. There is a quick easy fix to let you get on with it without a second thought.

Simply take a tea bag and cut a piece just larger than the split. Place it on the area to cover the split and apply a drop or two of nail glue, krazy glue will do as well.

File the top so it’s flush with the nail and smooth. Apply a base coat followed by polish and top coat to complete—-Problem solved.

Of course, a little prep work on Sunday night helps with the “manic Monday” blues but for those little unexpected situations, it’s good to have a little “hack” knowledge.
