Neurological Specialist Dr. Daniel Lai Joins Staff at Wuesthoff Medical Center – Melbourne

Wuesthoff Health System is welcoming Daniel Lai, MD, to its staff at Wuesthoff Medical Center—Melbourne. A graduate of Ohio State University College of Medicine, Dr. Lai specializes in neurology.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Wuesthoff Health System is welcoming Daniel Lai, MD, to its staff at Wuesthoff Medical Center—Melbourne. A graduate of Ohio State University College of Medicine, Dr. Lai specializes in neurology.

Before entering medical school, Dr. Lai graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh and performed his neurology residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. His fellowship in clinical neurophysiology was at Stanford University Medical Center in Stanford, CA.

“I’m very excited to be practicing at Wuesthoff and becoming part of the long history of patient care here,” said Dr. Lai, a member of the American Academy of Neurology.

“I certainly welcome the opportunity to make a contribution to the work and the care provided here.”

Dr. Lai comes to Wuesthoff from Mercy Health in Youngstown, Ohio, where he was a general neurologist attending physician with a subspecialty in electrophysiology. Before beginning his own practice at Mercy Health, he worked as a neurology hospitalist. As a hospitalist, he was treating acute neurological disorders such as stroke and seizure at multiple centers.

His published work has appeared in the Neurology Journal of the American Medical Association, Journal of Clinical Neurology, the Journal of Neuroimaging and the Journal of Child Neurology.

Dr. Lai is aiming to build a broad neurology practice that treats patients with neurologic disorders, including stroke, seizure, memory impairment, multiple sclerosis and headache. He is also subspecialty-trained in therapeutic Botox for headache, spasticity and facial spasms.
