ABOUT COCOA BEACH / SPACE COAST SPRING TRAINING

Brevard Production’s Cocoa Beach Spring Training and Space Coast Spring Training programs created over 10,000 room nights this past spring, and that is just the tip of the iceberg, according to Gile Malone.

“We work with hotels from all over the Space Coast to host our visiting teams. Our hotel partners are the best and they always make our teams feel welcome and at home,” said Malone.

“We have a super group of hotels and our teams greatly appreciate the warmth and hospitality they receive.”

This translates into millions of dollars of economic impact for businesses along the Space Coast and the many hotels greatly appreciate the work of Brevard Productions.

Brevard Productions spring training provides a unique situation where the teams can choose their arrival and departure dates, their chosen level of accommodations, meal plans, transportation and make their own schedule according to their personal needs.

“When and if more baseball fields become available,we will be able to attract many, many more teams, as the only limiting factor is usable field space,” said Malone.

“Thanks to Brevard County Parks and Recreation, the parks are in first class condition and offer the teams a first class environment for their practices and games.”

Brevard Productions creates work for more than 350 people throughout the year with its wide variety of sports and special events.

While the Washington Nationals and other professional spring training teams are enjoying the spring in Florida, hundreds of high school and college baseball and softball spring training teams are also enjoying the many sights and sounds of the sunny and warm Cocoa Beach area, thanks to Brevard Productions.

Teams typically travel with a large group of followers, parents, relatives and friends who also enjoy traveling down to Florida with the team.

This influx of teams and family members create a large economic impact which benefits local businesses up-and-down the Space Coast.

“We just don’t have fields like this at home,” said Trudie Lawson, a parent of one of the players from the Calgary Redbirds.

“Brevard Productions Cocoa Beach Spring Training is outstanding – and we love it here!”

The Brevard County Parks and Recreation facilities that are used by Brevard Productions for its spring training for the games and practices of the teams are ideal because the parks sit vacant and unused during the day, while the local school children and players are in school.

The camaraderie and team spirit is evident as the teams enjoy the practices and games. And these memories create special times that these young players will remember for the rest of their lives, all created on the Space Coast.

The Brevard County Parks and Recreation facilities that are used by Brevard Productions for its spring training for the games and practices of the teams are ideal because the parks sit vacant and unused during the day, while the local school children and players are in school.

This allows the park to be used by the visiting teams without displacing the local little leagues and other groups who enjoy the fields in the evening.

“People like Jack Lyerly at Merritt Island Little League and Tracy Jones at Port St. John are terrific to work with and our teams also spend money with those Little League concession stands, which in turn helps our local kids,” said Malone.

Cesar Perra, a hotel manager at the International Palms Resort in Cocoa Beach said, “We are proud to host the teams and it is a terrific boost to to our property.”

“The teams also bring lots of parents and other family and friends, so we are delighted with Brevard Productions.”
