BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – For this week’s “Patriotic Moment,” I wanted to take a little different approach by sharing with our citizens an incredible gift our agency received last week from Chapter 91 of the Special Forces Association.
This incredible gift is a United States Flag that was flown in the face of our enemy over the United States Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq on November 22, 2016, in honor of our agency.
The flag was specially requested to be flown for the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office by a member of the Special Forces Association who is stationed at the Embassy and is a lifelong resident of Brevard County.
Words can not express how honored I was to accept the flag on behalf of our agency and to know that it was raised as a symbol of our great nation by brave men and women who protect our country abroad so that we can sleep safely in our beds at night.
Knowing that the flag was flown with the intent to give it to our agency is truly humbling, and on behalf of our agency, I want to personally thank the Special Forces Association and our Brevard resident for this very kind gesture and for their dedicated service to our great nation.
If you would like to help us show our community’s patriotism each week by having your business or family perform on video the Pledge of Allegiance, a patriotic song, or just by sending a patriotic photo please send it to firstname.lastname@example.org with a brief description so we can include it in our weekly “Patriotic Moment.”
