Elderly Man Crashes Pickup Truck Into Titusville Post Office, No Injuries

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville Police and Fire Units responded to a reported crash at the Titusville Post Office on 2503 S Washington Ave. Friday afternoon after an elderly man hit the throttle instead of the brake, according to reports.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that Gordon Eugene Brown, 82, of Titusville, inadvertently pressed the accelerator instead of the brake as he was attempting to park his 2015 Nissan Frontier truck in a designated parking spot, according to Amy Matthews of the Titusville Police Department.

Police say the truck crashed through the front glass doors and came to a stop in the lobby of the post office.

Brown was not injured in the crash.

No one inside the post office was injured.

This is an ongoing active traffic crash investigation being conducted by the Titusville Police Department.
