Melbourne Police Seek To Locate Suspect After Assaulting, Threatening To Kill A 7-Eleven Clerk

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police are investigating an aggravated assault case that involved a suspect and a 7-Eleven store clerk early Wednesday morning near 1700 S. Babcock St. in Melbourne.

Melbourne Police received a call at around 1:27 a.m. Wednesday morning regarding an armed disturbance.

When officers arrived they made contact with the store clerk where the clerk informed the officer how the suspect attempted to pay for items using a large amount of pennies and the clerk said the amount was too much for the store to take in, according to Cmdr. Sean Riordan of the Melbourne Police Department.

The clerk said the suspect became enraged, then began throwing and pushing items off of the counter towards the clerk.

Police say the suspect made threatening remarks that she was going to kill the clerk and left the store.

The suspect returned, then showed two firearms and indicated she was going to shoot the clerk, police say.

According to investigators, the suspect was last seen fleeing the scene in a white four-door sedan, possibly a Toyota Camry.

After police conducted interviews, witnesses inside the store corroborated the sequence of events told by the clerk.

The clerk suffered only minor injuries which did not require medical attention.

Police say the suspect is wanted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, battery, criminal mischief over $1,000 and tampering with, or harassing, a witness/victim.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the above pictured suspect.
