BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police are investigating an aggravated assault case that involved a suspect and a 7-Eleven store clerk early Wednesday morning near 1700 S. Babcock St. in Melbourne.

Melbourne Police received a call at around 1:27 a.m. Wednesday morning regarding an armed disturbance.

When officers arrived they made contact with the store clerk where the clerk informed the officer how the suspect attempted to pay for items using a large amount of pennies and the clerk said the amount was too much for the store to take in, according to Cmdr.
