Palm Bay Police Nab Burglary Suspect After Footage Shows Perp Stealing From Plumbing Store

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay Police have arrested 31-year-old Brandon Michael Kern for commercial burglary at First Quality Plumbing after the suspect was observed on surveillance video turning the cameras towards the wall then subsequently stealing $5500 in tools, $500 in cash and around 100 pounds of copper plumber fittings.

The incident occurred Sunday morning where the suspect entered the First Quality Plumbing business by using a ladder to clear the barbed wire fence surrounding the business property then pried open the a side office door to enter, according to Palm Bay Police.

Later, the business owner noticed the burglary Monday morning and notified the police department immediately.

Special Operations Detectives were able to identify Brandon Kern as the suspect captured on the surveillance footage.

Authorities were able to locate the man where he was charged with commercial burglary, grand theft, criminal mischief and dealing in stolen property.

Kern’s bond has been set at $14,000 and is currently being held at the Brevard County Jail.

Detectives retrieved the all of the stolen property from the business, except for the $500 cash.
