BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Stephen R. Jayne, 64, formerly of Chatham, New Jersey and Milford, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully after a long battle with cardio vascular disease at his home in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

He was born in East Orange New Jersey on August 27, 1952 and graduated from Chatham High School before attending Paul Smith’s college in upstate New York.

He is survived by his former wife Kathy; five children Melissa, Kieran, Dylan, Amy and Tyler; son-in Law, Premal; one grandchild, Cameron Joseph; and brothers Bill and Don. He is predeceased by brothers Doug, Paul and Dave.

Steve spent most of his life outdoors, both working as a landscaper and enjoying fishing, camping and long walks in the woods. His story telling ability was legendary, and his many friends will attest to the fact that his company was very warm and welcoming.

He barreled through life with charm and thunder, with hairpin turns and loop-the-loops, but all the while showing the world how to laugh.

Steve’s legacy is rooted in tenderness, laughter, and mountains of memories.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Steve’s life will be held at Pierce Avenue Beach Access in Cape Canaveral, Florida on Saturday, March 18 at 10:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend.
