Brevard Sheriff’s Deputy Taylor Barrett Seizes 50 Grams of Cocaine, Heroine and Methamphetamine

BREVARD COUNTY • CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – As most of you know, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is comprised of many units and squads who perform very important functions around the clock to protect our citizens.

Deputy Taylor Barrett – Cape Canaveral / Port Canaveral Precinct:

Early this morning, Deputy Taylor Barrett conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for traveling without its headlights on in Cape Canaveral. While speaking with an occupant of the vehicle, Deputy Barrett noticed the individual attempting to conceal a large plastic bag underneath his leg.

Deputy Taylor asked the subject to exit the car when it was discovered the bag contained thirty (30) smaller bags in it, each containing heroin. A search incidental to the subject’s arrest located another bag containing 24 grams of cocaine, 9 grams of methamphetamine, and 17 grams of heroin.

The subject was identified as 43-year-old Allen Drane of Cape Canaveral.

Deputy Barrett is in his third year with the BCSO. As Sheriff, I am extremely proud of Taylor for his incredible service to our community. Because of his abilities, professionalism and passion, our citizens are safer today.
