Eastern Florida State’s Kareem Brewton Earns First Team NJCAA All-American, Heading To Memphis

ABOVE VIDEO: On Thursday afternoon, Eastern Florida State College’s Kareem Brewton was named an NJCAA first team All-American.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – On Thursday afternoon, Eastern Florida State College’s Kareem Brewton was named an NJCAA first team All-American.

The guard from Claxton, Ga. becomes the first Titans men’s basketball player to be named first team All-American under head coach Jeremy Shulman.

“What an honor,” Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball coach Jeremy Shulman said. “Kareem is so deserving of this honor and award for his hard work and outstanding play.”

Brewton, who signed his National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Memphis in the fall, averaged 19.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game his sophomore season and finished his two-year career with 1,189 points, starting 55 of the 68 games he played as a Titan.

He is also part of a sophomore class that has won 59 games in two seasons.

The Titans finished the season with a program record 31 wins and were the runner-up in the NJCAA Division I National Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Brewton was named to the all-tournament first team as well as all-state and the Player of the Year in the Southern Conference.
