Pro-AM events feature $2,000 AND $4,000 payouts

The Cocoa Beach Easter Pro/Am 2017 Surfing Festival continues the 53-year tradition of providing a showcase for eventual world championship contenders to exhibit their style and quality of surfing in front of huge crowds of spectators in Cocoa Beach, widely recognized and referred to as the “East Coast Capital of Surfing.”

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – The Cocoa Beach Easter Pro/Am 2017 Surfing Festival continues the 53-year tradition of providing a showcase for eventual world championship contenders to exhibit their style and quality of surfing in front of huge crowds of spectators in Cocoa Beach, widely recognized and referred to as the “East Coast Capital of Surfing.”

This event is the second longest running surf competition in the world, and is underway at Lori Wilson Park in Cocoa Beach.

The festival happening include:

• $4k Pro Longboard ($2k for Women, $2k for Men)

• $2k Pro Shortboard ($1k for Women, $1k for Men)

• Longboard and Shortboard Amateur Events

• Surfing Unleashed Dog Surfing Contest and much more

The Beachside Resident Men’s and the Salty Sweet Clothing Women’s Pro Longboard, will provide the $4,000 payout.

The Golf N Gator Men’s Pro and Cocoa Beach Health & Fitness Women’s Pro Shortboard will offer $2,000 in payouts. There also will be amateur events for ages 12 and under, 13-18 and 19 years of age and up in both categories.

Aside from the great surfing, there will be other events taking place. There is a sunrise Easter service from 6- 8 a.m. on Sunday, and  there will also be a helicopter Easter Egg drop as well as surfing dogs.
