Melbourne Police have arrested a 58-year-old Roger Goodrich for first-degree premeditated murder after police discovered a dead person on March 22 at 301 Palmetto Ave. in Melbourne. (BCSO Image)

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police have arrested a 58-year-old Roger Goodrich for first-degree premeditated murder after police discovered a dead person on March 22 at 301 Palmetto Ave. in Melbourne.

According to the report, the Melbourne Police Department received a call on March 22 about a person found dead.

When police responded to the scene they labeled the death suspicious.

After securing the residence and search for evidence, the medical examiner determined the death was from blunt force trauma and the death probably occurred on March 18.

As a result, police arrested Goodrich, roommate with the victim, after he was interviewed and charged him with first-degree premeditated murder.

Police are still investigating the incident and interviewing others that live in the residence and witnesses.
