Titans Softball Team Sweeps Doubleheader, Clinches Spot In NJCAA District Tournament

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College softball team swept a doubleheader at Broward to clinch a spot in the NJCAA District/FCSAA State Softball Tournament beginning April 28.

The Titans came into the game needed to win twice and did just that, winning Game 1, 4-2 and Game 2, 12-5.

It is the 13th straight season that the Titans have appeared in the state tournament.

In Game 1, the Titans got a big two-run home run from sophomore Karli Smith and Gillian Heinritz tossed seven strong innings to pick up the win.

In Game 2, Jordan Lawliss picked up the win with a complete game and Taylor Trimble went 2-for-4 with two RBI’s.

Savannah Alley went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBI’s and Mary Waldron hit a home run in the game.

The Titans will finish the regular season on Tuesday, hosting Seminole State College in a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.
