ABOVE VIDEO: West Melbourne police arrested 39-year-old Jorge Rosado of Palm Bay after leading officers on a high speed chase early Wednesday morning.

BREVARD COUNTY • WEST MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – West Melbourne police arrested 39-year-old Jorge Rosado of Palm Bay after leading officers on a high speed chase early Wednesday morning.

The incident began at around 1:08 a.m. Wednesday morning.

According to police body cam footage, the suspect was pulled over by police, after not complying with the police officer’s commands, the suspect drove away from officers and leading police on a high speed chase.

After a brief time, the suspect eventually pulled over in front of a house where the suspect is seen in the video not complying with the officer’s commands, once again.

Police then pull the man out of the vehicle while the suspect is still seen resisting arrest. Police used a taser to subdue the suspect and arrest Rosado.

“The vehicle was slowed down with the use of stop sticks and Rosado did finally stop the vehicle,” said Sergeant Michelle Page of the West Melbourne Police Department.

“Rosado continued to resist arrest and was subsequently pepper sprayed and tased prior to arrest.”

Rosado was booked into the Brevard County Jail on two felonies and two misdemeanors: Aggravated Battery on Law Enforcement Officer, Fleeing & Eluding Law Enforcement at a High Speed,  Leaving Scene of a Crash with Property Damage and Resisting an Officer.

Rosado is being held in jail on a $78,000 bond.
