Former UCF Coach Robert Cashman Is New Eastern Florida State Men, Women’s Tennis Coach

Cashman spent 17 seasons as UCF head coach

Eastern Florida State College has hired former UCF tennis coach Robert Cashman as the new men’s and women’s tennis coach.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA — Eastern Florida State College has hired former UCF tennis coach Robert Cashman as the new men’s and women’s tennis coach.

Cashman spent 17 seasons as the UCF head coach where he enjoyed success both on and off the court.

Before joining Rollins College as an assistant coach in December, Cashman’s UCF teams won three Atlantic Sun championships between 2002 and 2005 and also had the highest team grade point average for men’s sports at UCF six times.

“We are thrilled to welcome on board Bobby Cashman as our new Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach,” Eastern Florida State College Associate Vice President of Athletcs Jeff Carr said.

“When talking to his references the same theme was said by all of them, that he is a winner and will do it the right way on and off the court.”

“I am so excited to have Bobby as part of our staff. I really believe he will take our tennis program to national prominence over the next several years.”

Cashman, who was also an assistant coach at the University of Kansas and the Associate men’s and women’s tennis coach at Barry University, takes over a Titans program that finished 11-8 on the men’s side and 18-9 on the women’s side.

A member of the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Cashman has also volunteered his time at the Lipton Tennis Tournament in Miami, working a series of free clinics for inner-city children.

He is married and has three children.
