**UPDATE** – The female passenger killed in a crash earlier this month has been identified as 43-year-old Jody Powell from Orlando. The driver, a Merritt Island resident, 21-year-old Kevin Hart has been arrested and charged with two counts of vehicular homicide.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, alcohol played a factor into the crash.

ORLANDO, FLORIDA – The driver killed in the Thursday morning crash in Orange County has been identified as 55-year-old Jeffrey Ali from Orlando. The identity of the woman killed alongside Ali has not been released to the public, at this time.

ORLANDO, FLORIDA – Authorities with the Florida Highway Patrol have arrested a 21-year-old Merritt Island man early Thursday morning around 2:30 a.m. after the vehicle he was driving struck another vehicle that killed two people near Dean Road and Buck Road in Orange County.
The 21-year-old arrested is identified as Kevin Hart from Merritt Island.
According to to Sgt. Kim Montes of the Florida Highway Patrol, Hart was traveling west on Buck Rd. when he approached the intersection at Dean Rd. and slammed into the back of a 2002 Mitsubishi Mirage stopped at a traffic light, killing a 55-year-old man and a woman inside the vehicle.
Troopers say the impact was so strong that it carried both vehicles through intersection and sent Hart’s vehicle into a nearby tree.
FHP said that Hart was accompanied by three other passengers inside the vehicle, including 20-year-old Marc Bosciso, 23-year-old Stephanie Chewning and a third passenger that hasn’t been identified yet.

The third passenger in the vehicle fled the scene after the crash, according to Sgt. Montes.
Chewning suffered serious injuries and was transported Orlando Regional Medical Center, while Bosciso suffered only minor injuries.
FHP says alcohol played a factor in the crash.
