BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – The City of Rockledge held its Third Annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Sunday at Larry L. Schultz Park.

There were featured guest speakers, special music courtesy of the Community Band of Brevard, Honor Guards from the Rockledge Police Department and VFW Rocket Post 4534, and a wreath-laying ceremony.

The Memorial Day Ceremony originated three years ago when VFW Rocket Post 4534 suspended its annual Memorial Day Parade. The city felt that it was still very important to commemorate the significance of this special day.

Port Canaveral Commissioner Wayne Justice, Rear Admiral (Ret.), U.S. Coast Guard was among the guest speakers at the City of Rockledge Third Annual Memorial Day Ceremony.

Guest Speakers Include:

  • Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey
  • Port Canaveral Commissioner Wayne Justice, Rear Admiral (Ret.), U.S. Coast Guard
  • Senior Enlisted Advisor for the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute Chief Master Sgt. Boston Alexander, U.S. Air Force
  • Col. (Ret.) Danny McKnight, U.S. Army

Regional Director Tom Self, Office of U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, also attended and read a letter on Senator Rubio’s behalf.
