Eastern Florida State’s Kareem Brewton Named First Team All-American By NABC

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The honors keep rolling in for Eastern Florida State College guard Kareem Brewton.
The sophomore from Claxton, Ga. was named a first team All-American by the National Association of Basketball Coaches this week.
Brewton, who will be attending the University of Memphis in the Fall, was named NJCAA first team All-American last month and is the first Titans player under Jeremy Shulman to become a first team All-American.
“So proud of Kareem!!! It’s just another amazing honor for an amazing player! Well deserved.” Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball coach Jeremy Shulman said.
“Kareem is one of the best to ever play at Eastern Florida!”
The guard averaged 19.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game his sophomore season and finished his two-year career with 1,189 points, starting 55 of the 68 games he played as a Titan. He is also part of a sophomore class that has won 59 games in two seasons.
The Titans finished the season with a program record 31 wins and were the runner-up in the NJCAA Division I National Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Brewton was named to the all-tournament first team as well as all-state and the Player of the Year in the Southern Conference.
