BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Joshua Rodriguez, 18, was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder, Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony and Discharging a Firearm From a Motor Vehicle after a drive-by shooting Saturday in the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue in Merritt Island.

According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, the victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call and witnesses said the suspect was driving a maroon Nissan SUV.

Rodriguez was discovered driving the vehicle matching that description and Deputies found a .380-caliber semi-automatic handgun in the vehicle.

Rodriguez is currently in the Brevard County Jail on no bond.
