ORLANDO, FLORIDA – If you haven’t purchased tickets for one the most popular rock / heavy metal bands of all time, you may want to do so soon.
Tickets for Metallica’s WorldWired Tour 2017, in support of their sixth No.1 album, “Hardwired…To Self-Destruct”, are going fast.
Following a 14-year abscence, Metallica returns to Orlando to play Camping World Stadium on July 5.
One of the biggest selling acts in music history, Metallica was formed in 1981 when drummer Lars Ulrich and guitar player/singer James Hetfield got together after Ulrich placed an ad in a LA newspaper.

Soon, the two had recruited Hetfield’s friend and housemate Ron McGovney to play bass, Dave Mustaine to play lead guitar, and taken the name Metallica after a suggestion from Bay Area metal scene friend Ron Quintana.
Their ascent was to be relatively quick, driven by sheer work-rate, effort and a rare musical chemistry.
Rocking for 30 plus years Metallica has produced 10 studio albums with six of them reaching number one of the Billboard chart. They have 10 No.1 hits including such greats Until It Sleeps, Turn The Page and Hero of the Day.
Perhaps their most popular song ever is the 1991 hit, Enter Sandman. In the song the band reminds everyone to, “Sleep with one eye open.”
