26 Eastern Florida State Student-Athletes Named To NJCAA All-Academic Teams

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Seven Eastern Florida State College athletes were named to the National Junior College Athletic Association All-Academic first team.
Tennis players Giulianna Hull and Valeria Arevalo, basketball players Caitlyn Smith and Noah Horchler, women’s soccer player Juna Suppan, volleyball player Megan Graefe and women’s golfer Vittoria Giles all finished with perfect 4.0 GPA’s for the year to make the first team.
Overall, 26 Titan athletes were recognized for their work in the classroom, finishing the school year with 3.60 grade point average or better. At least one player from each sport was recognized with women’s soccer and women’s tennis leading the way with six players apiece.
Making the all-academic second team with GPA’s between 3.80 and 3.99 were women’s soccer players Jaime Farls and Sophia Carroll, women’s tennis players Katharina Drebka and Lea Stormer as well as men’s soccer player Bradley Franklin and men’s tennis player Danrich Kruger.

Thirteen players were named to the third team with GPA’s between 3.60 and 3.79. They were women’s soccer players Katie Lockwood, Meghan Dees and Sarah Chamale, softball players Abigail Ferlin and Jordan Lawliss, women’s tennis players Armelle Cerdan and Josephine Karcher, men’s tennis players Andreas Wejs and Samir Chikhaoui, men’s golfers Patxi Londaitz and Kyle Decenzo, baseball player Paul Castillo and volleyball player Delaney Smith.
“What a wonderful accomplishment for these student athletes,” Associate Vice President of Athletics Jeff Carr said. “They excelled in their sport and more importantly in the classroom. It is a great testament to their work ethic in the classroom.”
The 26 players recognized doubles last season’s total of 13 players honored.
