BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA (WFTV) – A 21-year-old man already wanted on an outstanding felony warrant was facing new charges Wednesday after leading deputies through Cape Canaveral and Port Canaveral at speeds topping 100 mph, officials said.

The pursuit started Wednesday when a Brevard County Sheriff’s Office deputy noticed a suspicious vehicle on Astronaut Boulevard, investigators said.

The owner of the van, later identified as Tyler Styers, had an active warrant for his arrest, the Sheriff’s Office said.

As the deputy who conducted the traffic stop returned to his vehicle, Styers allegedly drove away at a high rate of speed.
