BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa Police Chief Mike Cantaloupe swore in the department’s newest member, K9 Copper, recently at the council meeting.

Here is the text for Copper’s Oath of Office:

“I, Copper, do solemnly swear that I will show love and respect to all I encounter and that I am more than qualified with certifications in therapy and K9 Good Citizenship. I promise to search for the missing and the lost, and bring comfort to those in need. I will be loyal to the citizens of Cocoa and faithfully perform all the duties to assist my human partner, a police officer for the city of Cocoa, on which I am about to enter so help me God.”
