Melbourne Police Officers responded to multiple reports of a traffic crash at 50 East Eau Gallie Boulevard involving a vehicle striking a pedestrian at about 10:34 p.m. on Monday night.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police officers responded to multiple reports of a traffic crash at 50 East Eau Gallie Boulevard involving a vehicle striking a pedestrian at about 10:34 p.m. on Monday night.

According to Melbourne Police Sgt. Ryan Schorer, the pedestrian sustained serious life-threatening injuries and eventually succumbed to his injuries while on scene.

The westbound travel lanes of East Eau Gallie Boulevard (State Road 518) between Riverside Drive and Pineapple Avenue will be closed pending the Traffic Homicide Investigators’ investigation.
