BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The College Football America released its 2017 Yearbook Division II Preseason Top 30 rankings and Florida Tech Football is listed as the 24th-ranked team heading into the 2017 season.
The Panthers finished the 2016 season with an 8-3 record, including a 5-2 mark in the Gulf South Conference, and clinched the program’s inaugural berth into the NCAA Division II Football Playoffs as the No. 3 seed in Super Region 2.
Joining FIT in the poll are fellow Gulf South Conference members No. 6 North Alabama, No. 12 North Greenville and No. 23 Valdosta State.
The Crimson and Gray open the 2017 season against Virginia-Lynchburg on Saturday, Sept. 2 at Florida Tech Panther Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.
The College Football America 2017 Yearbook features more than 930 college football teams from the United States and Canada over the course of more than 300 striking, full-color pages. That includes every team from the NCAA (FBS, FCS, Division II and Division III), NAIA, NJCAA, CCCAA and U Sports (Canada). It also includes updates on club football, one-year postgraduate prep/sports academies and Mexican college football, along with dozens of action shots and stadium photos.
