The Republican National Committee named Florida woman Kayleigh McEnany as its new spokesperson Monday.

SUNSHINE STATE NEWS – The Republican National Committee named Florida woman Kayleigh McEnany as its new spokesperson Monday.

“Kayleigh will be an integral part of our Party’s ongoing commitment to promoting the Republican message to Americans across the country,” said RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel. “Her wealth of experience will be invaluable to the RNC as we continue to support President Trump and build on our majorities in Congress as we head into 2018.”

The news comes just a day after McEnany, a former CNN commentator, announced she would be leaving the mainstream media network and instead would report for the “real news” on Donald Trump’s Trump TV.

“I am excited to be joining the RNC at such an important and historic time in our country,” McEnany said.

“I’m eager to talk about Republican ideas and values and have important discussions about issues affecting Americans across this country.”

McEnany grew up in Tampa, attending the prestigious Academy of the Holy Names private school before attending Georgetown and the University of Oxford.

She later studied at the University of Miami’s Law School and transferred to Harvard Law School.

McEnany has been a frequent defender of President Trump on national television and on CNN, a news network which has routinely met the ire of conservatives who condemn the television network’s coverage as “fake news.”

McEnany became a paid contributor to CNN beginning in 2016.
