BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – On August 19, FootGolf players of all ages and skills are encouraged to compete at Mallards Landing Golf Course for the U.S. FootGolf National Championship qualifying tournament.

Typically, 30 percent of players who participate in qualifying tournaments are selected move on to compete at the national tournament, which will be held this year in November in Palm Desert, CA.

Mallards Landing is one of four qualifier locations in the state of Florida, and this qualifier is the last one that will be held in Florida before the national tournament.

The American FootGolf League selected the course because of its central location and its success with FootGolf programming.

“The American FootGolf League appreciates the relationship we have with the team at Mallards Landing — they have been very excited about FootGolf since they first introduced it at the course in 2016,” said Laura Balestrini, American FootGolf League President.

“Because they have hosted several successful fundraising tournaments, we are confident they will do a great job of hosting the qualifier.”

Since becoming the first course in Brevard County to be certified by the American FootGolf League in 2016, Mallards Landing has developed a variety of popular FootGolf programs including open play, league play, charity outings/fundraising events, birthday parties and team-building events.

Hosting this qualifier tournament is part of a larger effort to expand competitive programming at the course.

“Florida has a growing and active AFGL Chapter, and we want to encourage new players to come out and compete,” Balestrini said. “Experienced players are always excited to welcome new players and introduce them to the competitive side of FootGolf.”
