Q – FREEMAN: Tell us a little about Adams Homes

A – PORTER: Adams Homes is a family-owned company started in Pensacola, Florida in 1991. Since then, Adams Homes has expanded through seven states across the southeast and has built more than 40,000 new homes.

Elizabeth (Stites) Porter is the Regional Manager for Adams Homes.

Q – FREEMAN: What should homebuyers know about Adams Homes?

A – PORTER: We’ve been in Brevard County since 2001 and have consistently been one of the top-rated homebuilders. Our goal is to provide an affordable home that’s built to last and a home you’re proud to own.

We’re the only builder that offers just $1,000 deposit to have a new home built and we pay closing costs when using an approved lender. This program gives homebuyers time to save up down payment money and saves them thousands of dollars at closing.

Q – FREEMAN: Do homebuyers need to be pre-qualified for a mortgage before coming to a model home?

A – PORTER: No. We work with the best local mortgage companies and we’ll help get you get approved. Our lenders offer free credit checks and have a variety of loan programs. Unlike a lot of homebuilders, Adams Homes doesn’t own any part of the mortgage company or closing attorneys we use. That gives buyers a lot of confidence they’re getting the best deal out there.

Q – FREEMAN: How soon can I move into a new home?

A – PORTER: We have Express Move-In homes for those buyers looking for an immediate move. We also offer pre-construction homes for buyers wanting to choose all their colors and watch the home built. Pre-construction is typically 6-8 months.

Q – FREEMAN: Is the lot included with the home?

A – PORTER: Yes! Our advertised prices include the lot, all permitting fees, and the house.

Q – FREEMAN: Do buyers need to add a lot of upgrades to their home?

A – PORTER: No. Adams Homes believes homebuilders should offer buyers a home that already includes what most homeowners would want in their home and a home the buyer can purchase for the advertised price. Adams Homes does not believe in “up selling” homebuyers on upgrades that are really a standard expectation.

Most homebuilders don’t even include light fixtures or a door bell. We’re completely against the strategy of advertising a lower price and forcing buyers to spend tens of thousands of dollars in upgrades.

Q – FREEMAN: How would a first-time buyer get started?

A – PORTER: It’s easy. Just visit one of our model homes and our sales associates will help select the perfect floor plan and guide you through the process. Our process is simple and most homebuyers get their contract started on the first visit.
