Brevard Public Schools Conducting Survey To Consider When To Reopen After Hurricane Has Passed

BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – Brevard Public Schools wants to know if you evacuated the Space Coast area for Hurricane Irma – and how far you traveled.

Brevard Public Schools officials are conducting a survey to gather information to make a decision on when to reopen schools after the storm has passed.

Schools were closed Thursday and Friday last week due to Hurricane Irma and will remain closed until further notice.

“The district will work collaboratively with local agencies to monitor the storm’s progress and to determine when it will be safe to reopen,” said Matt Reed, BPS Assistant Superintendent/PIO in a release.

“We will continue to update staff, parents and our community through the BPS app, Facebook, Twitter, district email and our emergency-notification system.”
